Welcome to the car club for those who enjoy the earliest Valiants and Barracudas that Plymouth produced! The Early Valiant & Barracuda Club started as one person's home page and quickly grew to become a premier source of information for these often-overlooked classic cars.

Membership is free! All you need is an interest in these cars. Owning one is not necessary. More info on the "Club Info" push button.

Our chat nite is Friday at 10:00 pm Eastern time. Stop in and share stories with us. Click here to Join us in the Chat Room!

Did you know...?
  • Chrysler Engineering is widely regarded as being ahead of their time, when they designed these cars.
  • The Plymouth Valiant has one of the largest trunk spaces ever provided in a compact car.
  • The Plymouth Barracuda's 14.4 square foot glass back window was unlike anything else on the road back in 1964-66. It still is today.
  • The slant 6 and V8 engines are generally thought of as virtually bullet-proof in reliability, and yet with a reasonable level of fuel economy. Never built to their full potential from the factory, some slant 6 engines are now being used for drag racing!
  • The TorqueFlight automatic transmission was (and still is) one of the best: world-renowned for its incredibly durability and silky smooth shifting.
  • The new-for-1962 suspension went nearly unchanged through the last of the Darts and Valiants in 1976. Also ahead of its time, it responds quite well to radial tires and other minor improvements.

Did you know...?
  • Site updated 7-19-08 .
  • The All-Chrysler Nationals are over for 2008. See all the pictures and videos from the event In the "Photos" section and the brand new "Virtual Car Show" section.
  • Congrats to Don Carpenter for placing second in the 1963 to 1966 A body stock class in his 1965 Barracuda at Carlisle this year!
  • Dave Layson was arrested at Carlisle for producing counterfit parts. Here is the link on the EVBC Forums for more info. Click Here.
